Well, it now actually has a release date, but it's only for the German
version so far: October 13th. The CE costs a whooping 62 Euro, but I
pre-ordered it anyway. Before today, there wasn't a reliable release date.
The game's closer than I had anticipated.

Where did you see that date? The website still shows Sept for the German
version and Sept-Oct for the English version.

There are unconfirmed rumours that talk about Oct 13th for the German
version:

which would be the release date of the Collector's Edition according
to Amazon.de. Content of the CE: unknown.

So I have to finish Gothic1 as fast as possible, and get through Gothic2,
too? It was only with this machine I am sitting at, that I could actually
play the game, with my Pii 400 being still too slow, and my Laptop
(supposedly 1.2 GHz, but sluggish as hell) wouldn't show a display on its
ATI Radeon VE)...

And as old as this game is, I am still hooked - atmosphere is just great
and I love the dry replies of the hero to the quests he is given.

Those of you who read German, have a look at the Jowood forum

Ppl exchange their plans on release day. Timetables, from breakfast
on, arrival of postman, or delivery at their working place ("read
manual at lunchtime, will leave work at 3 p.m, arrival at home 3:30
p.m" etc.) My goodness! The Gothicians are really hot!

Makes my teeth grow long for the Collector's Edition.

Heh, I bought the first game long ago, when my PC was still too weak for
it, and the next had the wrong video card (ATI - blank screen and
nothing else)

After hearing about the release of Gothic3, I dug it out and finally
started playing - five years after its release - and am hooked. I did
the first round as a Old Camp member, finished it after sixteen days,
and immediately started anew, as a Swamp Camp Templar.

Oops, even Opera 9.01 won't upload? (uses Seamonkey)

Ah, Information. A property, too valuable these days, to give it away, just so, at no cost.

Ok, in short: you pre-ordered G3. We are among us: What will you do on
"Release-Day"? Till then, fore sure, you will have a lot of fun with
Gothic 2 and NOR. Go on! Haste! Play! ;-)

My favourite place in G1 was inside the Rogues' cave (incl.
soundtrack): beautiful!
