In Nar Shadaa, I simply cannot get the Exchange to notice me enough to
get the plot to progress. I checked the KotOR 2 walkthrough on Gamespot
and it said that you need to get enough attention from the Exchange
(either good or bad) to trigger a certain evetn happening near the Ebon
Hawk (some kind of cutscene and then a battle, IIRC). I've made myself
known to the Exchange, done pretty much everything there, even paid the
little dude in the Entertainment Area 2000 creds to say bad things about
me, but nothing's happened. He says the Exchange wants my head, but I
still don't trigger anything that progresses the story.

The only thing left that could piss off the Exchange even more is to
complete the trade quest for the female rodian, although I don't see how
that would be particularly important. It's worth noting I suffered a
cutscene glitch that caused the initial cutscene with the white flying
creature near the landing pad to trigger TWICE within several minutes. I
also accidentally "sold" the Ebon Hawk to some guy claming it was his,
but at this stage nothing appears to have changed.

If I can't fix this soon, I'll go nuts (apart from the fact I won't be
able to complete the game without meeting the Jedi here).

Leave, get higher in level, come back. Gotta have those assassinations on
you, ya know. They're waiting for you to be higher level.

Really? Perhaps I'm on Nar Shadaa too soon (not that I noticed; my Jedi
Guardian's a lightsaber-welding machine).

Two things:

(1) Where do these "assassinations" come from?
(2) What level is appropriate? I'm already at level 16 IIRC. Hope
they've removed the 20-level cap from the original KotOR, or it'll get
kinda boring.

I ended the game at about level 26 and I could have gone for more
if I killed more things :-)

I got a good laugh at the door guard at the exchange.

First go round:
Me: Open the door.
Guard 1: I'm dead either way.
Me: Ok, you're dead.

Second go round:
Me; Open the door.
Guard s: I can't.
Me: Know what happened to the last guy who didn't open that door.
Guard 2: No.
Me: You've got his job.

Third go round:
Me: Open the door.
Guard 3: Please don't kill me.

I don't believe that

I did Nar Shaada as the first planet after I left Telos, and didn't
have a problem Are you sure you've done "everything"?

* Have you gone back to your ship, and triggered the event with the
landing "rights"? That was the mission that put me over.

* Met with the Hutt?

* Met with Saquesh.

Dan Simpson's FAQ on Gamefaq's is more in-depth than that gamespot
walkthrough, and it has a complete listing of what to do to get in
contact with the exchange.

From the FAQ

" Rule #2: Never save over the first save when you get to a new
planet. Especially Nar Shaddaa."

and

"Nar Shaddaa presents problems. Most can be solved by talking to
Keelah-Nah near the Cantina/Pazaak Den once, then again to set your
reputation with the Exchange. However, in some instances the cutscene
that triggers to get you the Comm Message is broken. If this happens,
all you can do is reload to before you cleared your ship of the
Slavers, and try it again."

Well people, I've fixed the problem.

I started playing again from the beginning of the game. :(

Simply had no choice. Trust me, I DID do everything before, and now that
I've completed the game I know what went wrong...

After Telos I decided this time to go straight to Nar Shadaa and deal
with the planet as soon as possible. I decided to side myself with the
Exchange this time, as I helped the boss in the Refugee sector and paid
off the little dude (Keelah-Nah) in the Cantina. Once that happened I
soon got the comm message I never recieved before. It really didn't take
that long to get the message.

As it turns out, what I think happened with my original playthrough is
that since I got a bug that played the opening cutscene TWICE, this
somehow screwed with the script and caused the hyjacking of the Ebon
Hawk to never occur. In any case, I've finished the game.

Shit ending.
