hi all.
i have the original dungeon siege. i'm planning on getting the expansion,
but was wondering if i have to reinstall the entire game given this new
version is standalone and comes on 3 cd's? or is one of the discs the
expansion only, and that's all i have to install?
tia.

From the adverts the game is an add-on to the original game. It ships
with a copy of the original game. You must install the game, then the
add-on to play it.

so by extension, i would have to have this "newer" set of cds, then
reinstall, to be able to access the expansion? if so, that kinda sucks,
given the fact up here in canada expansions generally cost as much as a game
does. boohoo :(

That's nothing compared to the crying you'll be doing when you sober up and
realize you bought an expansion for... Dungeon Siege.

Yes, well, some people did enjoy the game, as much as it may vex you.

The expansion is incorporated into the 3 cd's but puts 2 shortcuts on the
desktop (DS and DS LOA)

Quite so. I think I'm about half-way through it now, and if anything I'm
finding it increasingly addictive. The settings are fantastic, the creatures
are terrific, the graphics are great, and the user interface is by far the
best I've seen. I'm already looking forward to the expansion and to Dungeon
Siege II (or whatever it will be called).

I can understand those who complain that it's "just a dungeon crawl," but
it's a heck of a good dungeon crawl.
