PLAYNC sold my email address

for the longest time I never gave out a certain email as I only used it on
some trusted shopping sites with my CC. the other day I attempted to sign up
with plaync.com for a factions key, the sign up failed so far and I still
cant log in, however now I get 20 spam a day to that address when I never
got any, until I attempted to sign up with it.

I typed the exact address of www.plaync.com to be sure isn't on some
phishing site.

Weirdness! I've used the same address for all my PlayNC demos and games and
have yet to receive anything spammy (although maybe Comcast blocks it?).

mine started getting spammed like crazy after my gw purchase as well.
did you get the factions key from The Source? It was sent out
yesterday. You should be able to link that key to your GW account from
in-game completely bypassing the plaync site.

What do you expect from the makers of a MMOG that does not charge
monthly subscription fees ? Gotta make money somehow between
add-on releases.... :-) :-) :-)

Expect some adopters of Steam technology to follow suit. Valve
themselves have been pretty good about not flooding users with spam.

You brainless moop, PlayNC is not the maker of GW, they're the
publisher. PlayNC also handles CoH/CoH, Auto Assault, Lineage II, and a
bevy of other games.

Or mebbe someone operating the website is operating a cache viewer and
getting the email addy that way.
